Need project funding? CERTs can help! | The Minnesota Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) seeks proposals for seed grant funds. These grants are designed to provide limited financial assistance for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Project funding can support assistance services (labor costs only, such as for a consultant, design professional, installer or student labor) for projects in all seven Minnesota CERT regions. Application deadline: Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Learn more. |
2013 energy legislation update |
The Minnesota Department of Commerce recently published an update about the new policies by the legislature intended to boost the state's distributed generation, defined as the generation of electricity on-site or close to where it is needed in small facilities designed to meet local needs. Multifamily buildings' energy savings study |
According to the Minnesota Department of Commerce there are about 370,000 housing units within Minnesota's rental multifamily building stock. Nearly three-quarters of these are located in the seven-county Twin Cities region. Because of its energy savings potential, a two-part study project was done, which includes best practices and a building characterization. Get the results.

Energy Innovation Corridor |
Located within one of the most unique urban communities in the country, the Energy Innovation Corridor was formed to create a sustainable energy and transportation showcase. The first-of-its-kind, this clean energy and transportation model extends along the 11-mile Central Corridor light rail transit project route, from downtown Saint Paul to Target Field in downtown Minneapolis, along Washington and University avenues, via the Minnesota State Capitol and entire University of Minnesota-Minneapolis campus.
