Sometimes I get so caught up in the hamster wheel of working that I forget to stop and think about how thankful I am for the life I have. With a family close by, elderly parents still alive and fairly healthy, my boyfriend, lots of friends, my health, my 2nd home in East Hampton (which I am now enjoying in the off-season when it's not rented), and a good year in business, I have to be thankful.
Take the time this Thanksgiving to think about all you are thankful for.
Warm regards,
Donna M. Dazzo, President

Market Overview:
New York, NY
"The divide between the condominium and co-op markets continued to expand in October 2014 as co-ops show high demand and limited supply, driving strong market fundamentals. The condominium market has been suffering from a surplus of high priced inventory and dearth of product under $3M, leading to a year-over-year slip this month in sales and prices and an increase in days on market. Price growth was most prominent this month in one bedroom co-ops, up 18% versus last October, due to increasing demand for more affordable product."
The following is a comparison of October 2014 vs. October 2013:
Market Wide:
- Listings on Market: 6,415 is an 11% increase.
- New Listings: 2,069 is a 20% increase.

- The average price per square foot of $1,114 is a 9% increase.

Tips and Tricks of the Trade: How to Get a Dining Room Rug Just Right
Err on the side of too big: A dining room rug should have at least 24 inches of extra room on all sides of the dining table, to allow enough space for guests to pull out chairs without tripping over the rug.
Feel before you buy a natural fiber rug: The key lies in the texture of the rug - the finer and smoother it is, the easier it will be to clean.
Match rug shape to room shape: Have a square dining room? Try a square or round rug. Rectangular room? Use a rectangular rug. Echoing the shape of the room with your rug brings a pleasing feeling of order to a space.
Match rug shape to table shape: Round dining tables look great with round or square rugs. Rectangular and oval dining tables work well with rectangular rugs. Square dining tables tend to work best with square rugs, though a round rug could work for a more playful feel.
Look at the larger space: When choosing a color and pattern for your dining room rug, look at it as a piece in the larger puzzle of your space. What color are your dining chairs and table, light fixtures, flooring and wall color? If you have an open floor plan, what other rugs are you already using in the space? The rug you ultimately choose should fit naturally with these other pieces.
