President's Message
As January quickly slips by I hope you all have had a chance to reflect on what you have accomplished in 2013 and what you would like to accomplish in 2014. You've made some resolutions and drew up a new business plan to make this your best year ever.

We have another great keynote speaker lined up this

month and two interesting Spotlight Speaker presentations. (See the Program Report below.) I look forward to another interesting and informative night. If you would like to be a spotlight speaker, please contact Janet Martyn to book you slot.

If you would like to donate a door prize or treats for any of our monthly meetings, they are always greatly appreciated.

I hope to see you all on February 6th at 6pm for another night of networking

Program Report

We are excited to have Kara Foreman co-founder of IMAGINE, an on-line learning community, to be the keynote speaker for our February 6th meeting.

The presentation is entitled: "Creating Multiple Income Streams in the New Economy."

"The world of business is changing... fast," says Kara Foreman. "As entrepreneurs and small business owners, it is imperative that we keep up with current market trends and ensure that we're taking full advantage of opportunities to expand our client or customer reach. In today's market, if you are relying on one income stream, you're putting yourself and your family at risk."

This presentation will outline key principles that uber-successful business owners understand and utilize. She will also describe six alternative income streams that attendees can implement right now to create a more sustainable financial future.

The two 10-minute member spotlights for February 6th meeting will feature Michele Passey, owner of Solid Rock Bookkeeping, and Nancy Farey, owner of The Mustard Lady .

The meeting, which begins at 6pm with networking, is at The Filberg Center (behind the Sid Williams Theatre) in the Evergreen Room (lower level).

Membership Report

We are back to our regular Thursday meetings at the Florence Filberg Center in the Evergreen Room lower level on Thursday, February 6. At our Open House in January we had a few members stand up and give reasons why they joined and continue to belong to the association. Members join for various reasons but here are a few benefits of belonging:

  • informative talks on business related topics
  • monthly business profile draws for the website and newsletter
  • table at the back of meetings to put your marketing materials
  • monthly Constant Contact newsletter "Biz Buzz".

This association has a relatively low yearly membership fee for the amount of benefits it provides to its members. Have a good month and see you in February.
