President's Message
What's your New Year's resolution for 2014?
Well I hope networking is on the top of your list. Networking is the most powerful marketing tool to help build your business. If you ask any successful salesperson or executive what helped them excel in their career their answer would be NETWORKING. So to start your new year off on the right foot I invite you to join us on Tuesday Jan. 7 as we kick off 2014 with a bang. Our keynote speaker, Terri Perrin owner of Terri PERRIN Ink and Fine Art of Intention will be talking on "Effective Email Marketing and the proposed Canadian Anti-Spam Law (CASL)". Also we are having our first Open House as our members will have an opportunity to showcase their businesses. Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you all on the 7th. Happy New Year! Terri will cover the proposed Canadian Anti-Spam Law (CASL), list building and how to avoid having your emails wind-up in electronic trash cans and SPAM folders.
Whether you are a home-based entrepreneur, owner of a brick and mortar business (large or small) or part of a non-profit or community organization ... online or otherwise ... you will benefit from the information presented.
Members are encouraged to bring a small table top display (12 to 18 inches wide) showcasing their business with products, rack cards or a portfolio of your work in order for guests to experience the diversity of our membership.
The meeting, which begins at 6pm with networking, is at The Filberg Center (behind the Sid Williams) in the Evergreen Room (lower level).

Membership Report
It's a new calendar year and the SBA is starting it off with a "Biz Showcase" and "Open House" encouraging everyone to bring a guest. The date to remember is Tuesday, January 7 at 6:00 for the mix and mingle and the meeting will start shortly after. All members who attend will have a two foot space (no more) to set out their marketing materials. We encourage everyone to do this so we can showcase our diverse membership and entice our guests to see the benefits of becoming members! There is a great keynote presentation as well with a subject matter that we all need to hear.
We will also be introducing our "Community Partnership" program at this meeting with an email going out to the membership the week before the meeting. I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
