The CPL Programming Committee Asks... 

The Chatham Public Library is seeking new program ideas from our community. If you have suggestions for new workshops or events, please send them to chathampubliclibrary@chatham.k12.ny.us We are especially interested in receiving suggestions from those who are also willing to organize and/or facilitate a new program, but all ideas are welcome.

  

Contemporary Art Discussion Group

Monday, June 8, 6:00-7:45 pm

Come join Melissa for a lively discussion. The topic for June 8th is the artist's hand: its role and relevance today. Katie O'Keefe, a recent graduate of the Maryland Institute of Contemporary Art, and originally from Tivoli, has contributed to this theme with her suggestion of the reading from the book, The Hand by Frank R. Tech Tutors 

Wednesday, June 10th, @3:00-4:30 pm

Tech Tutors are high school students who will provide one-on-one help to adults to learn basic computer skills or how to better use their eReader or smartphone. Learn to use a mouse, set up an email account, search the internet, or navigate Facebook or Twitter. Bring your laptop, phone, reader, or other device with you. Visit the library, or call us at 392-3666, to register for this program.

 

Memoir Writing

Tuesday, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.;

Thursday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Peer led writing groups gather to provide comment and review one another's memoir writing. New writers are welcome!  If interested, contact Al Stumph at 392-2618, or astumph@fairpoint.net 

 

Mah Jongg  

Monday and Wednesday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Mah Jongg players meet downstairs in the Teen Room. Beginners are welcome. Join the Mah Jongg renaissance!

For age birth to 24 months, a story time designed especially for our youngest patrons with songs, rhymes and stories. Join the fun!

You Can Do a Graphic Novel
Mondays & Wednesdays June 29, July 1, 6, 8, 13, & 15, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Lbarbara slateocal cartoonist, Barbara Slate, who has written, drawn and created over 300 stories for Marvel, Archie and DC Comics, will teach you how to develop characters and plot stories, while offering tips on the creative process. For Teens and Tweens.  

 

 

Sniffer Dogs: How Dogs (and their noses) Save
