Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 am
At the end of each worship service the pastor offers a benediction, blessing us and sending us forth into the world. This Sunday marks the end of Pastor Kelly's tenure with us, and the sermon reflects the theme of benediction as we consider how we have blessed one another and how we go forth from here on our respective paths.
Preaching: Rev. Kelly Love
Sermon: "Benediction: Blessing and Sending Forth"
Help honor and say goodbye to Pastor Kelly after the 11:00 service with a light luncheon and ice cream social.

1. Honoring Pastor Kelly, June 19th
Pastor Kelly's last Sunday will be on Sunday, June 19th--Please try to attend! As a community, this is an opportunity for us to express our love and appreciation to her, as well as our good wishes for the next chapter in her life. Immediately after the 11 am service, in the Sanctuary, there will be a 30 minute celebration of Pastor Kelly. If you are not attending the 11 am service, please try to arrive no later than 12 pm. Following this, we will all move to the Fellowship Hall for a light lunch and Ice Cream Social. This will allow each of us to spend some time with one another and with Kelly.
Briagha Stevens ( briaghastevens@gmail.com) has been organizing a memory book for Pastor Kelly. If you haven't yet contributed, there is still time. You can prepare a page or a half page with a photo, memories... The book will be available for last minute entries on June 19th.

2. Join Opening Doors for a Community Conversation
When: Saturday, June 25th, 4-6 pm
Where: Lutheran Church of the Incarnation
1701 Russell Blvd
The plight of victims of trafficking and refugees in Europe and the Middle East has captured headlines across the country. However, these stories unfold daily in Central Valley communities. Opening Doors, a Greater Sacramento nonprofit, is a leader in resettling refugees from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. We also provide services to men, women, and children who have been trafficked into slavery so they can emerge as survivors. Programs in financial education and micro-enterprise assistance help all, both new Americans and native-born, to improve their financial situations.
Please join us for a community conversation and learn more about how Opening Doors has become part of the solution. We will share the services we provide and let you know how Davis residents can get involved.
Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served and members of our staff will be on hand to answer questions after a brief presentation.

1.
Help Pastor Kelly Move?
Pastor Kelly would be enormously grateful for a pickup truck and a few strong backs the afternoon/early evening (depending on temperatures) of Saturday, June 25th to move her books and files from the pastor's study at the church to her home (1 mile away). If you might be available and willing, please call or email: pastorkellylove@gmail.com, 756-2170.
In addition, some help might be needed or appreciated to pack books into boxes, earlier on the 25th or on some day prior, to be determined. Also, if you have any banker/file boxes, book boxes, or copy paper boxes, Pastor Kelly would be grateful to take those off your hands!

2. New Fellowship Coordinator Needed
DUMC is looking for a new Fellowship Coordinator, starting in July. The job is fairly simple - arrange which one of our many wonderful Fellowship hosts (there is a list) is willing to provide snacks each Sunday (two hosts per week for the two different services). This can be done on a weekly basis or once a month depending on personal preference. Additionally, it can be done by phone, email, or online sign-up. If this is a job you would be willing to take on, contact Anna in the office at davisumc@davisumc.org.

3. Perpetual Book Sale
Looking for something new to read? UMW has a bookshelf teeming with a wide variety of literature located in Fellowship Hall. There is a donation box on the side of the bookshelf where you can pay the .50 fee for taking a book. Check it out on Sunday!
