This Sunday, March 20th - PALM SUNDAY
Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 am

Palm Sunday/Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week - that week in the Christian calendar when we remember all the events that led up to Jesus' death; we commemorate his crucifixion; and, finally, we celebrate the resurrection. It is perhaps the most complicated week of the year, as events carry us through the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. On Palm/Passion Sunday we get a taste of this complexity, as we join in the celebration of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and foreshadow the events that will follow. Pastor Kelly's sermon title is "Mixing Triumph and Tragedy." The scriptures are Luke 19:28-40 (Palms), Luke 22:47-53, and Luke 23:1-23 (Passion).

The Youth Ministry is starting up a new Grocery Bag Ministry! As a way to provide the adult congregation a means to be more involved with the Youth Ministry, we are asking for volunteers to bring groceries for the dinner the Youth members make before bible study.

Please sign up here to let us know which date you can provide groceries. Any questions can be directed to Ji Hyun Song at youthministry@davisumc.org.

2. Work Day Thank You!!
by Dick Dowell

Thanks to the following folks (and anyone I missed) for their hard work at the spring church workday. Louanne and Brian Horsfield, Roland McCoy, Eva Brock, Marcus and Margot Clark, Alice Harvey, Jerry Olson, Dick Dowell, Karen and Randy Ruan, Judith McKibbon, Chuck Young, Mary  Philip, Sherrill Futrell, Susan Padgett and Brian, Sarah, and Joshua Williams.

Much was accomplished in addition to window washing. Sanding in preparation for re-oiling of the MaeEtta bench, major shed cleanup including taking hazardous waste to the land-fill, carpet spot-cleaning were among the tasks.

A special thanks to Chuck Young for the morning pastries, and to Marcus Clark for facilitating a wonderful fellowship wrap-up with his homemade cornbread and chili soup.
