Events
1. Fellowship Fridays - Starts THIS FRIDAY, Oct. 23rd

This fall, Welcome Wednesday dinners become Fellowship Fridays.  The day was changed to make it possible to start the dinners at 6:00 rather than 5:30 so that people coming from work would be able to participate more easily.  Skip cooking on Friday evenings and enjoy dinner with your church friends.

If you haven't signed up already and would like to join, contact Lorraine Beaman at jlbcareers@sbcglobal.net

2. All-Church Baby Shower, Nov. 1st, 12:15 pm

We are welcoming baby Ian Alexander Thebaud, born to Kristin and Russ on September 18th.

As always we will be presenting them with individual wishes for Ian, as well as simple gifts.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in this important ministry.  If possible, please bring finger food to share.

3. Interfaith March to Support Climate Change Action, Nov. 1st

The Sacramento & Sierra Nevada Buddhist Climate Action Network is organizing an Interfaith Climate March to support the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Paris on Nov. 30th and California's groundbreaking efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The march will be from 11 am to 4 pm on November 1, 2015. Gather at 11 am on the West Steps of the Capitol in Sacramento (near the corner of  L St. and 10th St.), walk to the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers, and back to the West Steps of the Capitol. All are welcome to participate in the march.

Announcements
1. Work Day Thank-You

Many thanks to the small but energetic group who pitched in on our Saturday workday.  They included Randy Ruan, Marcus Clark, Dick Dowell, Brian & Louanne Horsfield, Kathy Schinski and Alice Harvey.  Others putting forth significant effort earlier in the week include Chuck Young, Ron Hoppes and Bob Fretwell.

2. A Jarring Bean Drop

After a meatless Monday, drop one bean per personper meatless day in the jar in Fellowship Hall. What does the bean represent?  You can conserve energy and water, improve your health, save money, and fight climate change by eating vegetarian one day each week.  Producing meat requires far more energy and water than producing the equivalent protein from vegetables, and it costs more and generates more greenhouse gases.  So let's conserve by going vegetarian at least once a week. Let's see how fast we can fill the jar!
