Financial Peace University
Do you struggle with a disconnect between being the person you feel called to be versus the many demands made on your paycheck? Financial Peace University (FPU) is coming to DUMC. We all need a plan for our money: teens, young families, singles, and seniors. FPU is a plan that works; it teaches faithful ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive group activities, this 9 week class presents biblical and practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and give you financial peace of mind!
Informational session: October 4th in the Walker Room from 3:00-3:30 PM
Class Sessions: Sundays 3:00 PM-5:00 PM, October 11 through December 13 (no class the Sunday after Thanksgiving)
Coordinator: Becky Beaman

Meatless Mondays
Want to conserve energy and water, improve your health, save money, and fight climate change easily and painlessly? You can do it all by eating vegetarian one day each week.
The Cool Davis Interfaith Alliance for Climate Justice encourages faith communities to care for God's creation by foregoing meat on Mondays. Producing meat requires far more energy and water than producing the equivalent protein from vegetables, and it costs more and generates more greenhouse gases. So let's conserve by going vegetarian at least once a week. Davis United Methodist Church is a partner with Cool Davis and is cosponsoring the Meatless Monday campaign. There will be beans and a large jar in the Fellowship Hall. Each time you eschew meat on Monday, put a bean in the jar. Let's see how fast we can fill the jar!
