This Sunday, July 12th
Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 am
Raging debate determined which books made it into the canon of Hebrew and Christian scripture - which early writings would be included in what we now know as our Bible, and which would be rejected. In the midst of controversies over all kinds of theological questions, somehow a book of love poetry (even erotic love poetry) made it in to our scripture. What are the odds? And - are we willing to accept this love poetry for what it is, without explaining it away with difficult to sustain theological explanations? Pastor Kelly's sermon this week is titled "What's Love Got to Do With It?" The scripture reading is Song of Solomon 2:8-13 .
