Are unpaid internships legal in Ontario? 
Unpaid internships are generally illegal in Ontario. There are some exceptions, but they are very limited. The Ministry of Labour is committed to ensure fairness and protect young workers, along with educating people on whether or not they are entitled to the protection of the Employment Standards Act.

Youth Job Connection (YJC)  

Are you facing job challenges? Tired of thinking about the next step? 

Youth Job Connection is a new youth employment program designed to help you discover your potential! The program will serve youth aged 15 to 29 who experience multiple and/or complex barriers to employment by providing more intensive supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities. These include:

- Paid pre-employment training workshops
- Paid job placement and employment supports
- Individual job coaching and support

Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) 

A new program beginning in 2016 will reduce the electricity bills of low-income customers. 

If you are a customer of an electric utility and in a lower income home, you may qualify for a reduction on your electricity bill through the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP). It's also available to customers of unit sub-meter providers and retail energy companies. You must apply to the program.
