Students can start their own Summer Business Company - Youth Corner

Do you know a student who thinks outside the box, shows enthusiasm for new ideas and doesn't shy away from hard work?
Someone who loves to watch Dragon's Den, is creative, and has a special skill, talent or passion?
If so, you may know an entrepreneur in the making and the perfect candidate for the 2013 Summer Company Program.
Each year, the Brampton & Caledon Small Business Enterprise Centre teams up with the Province of Ontario to offer Summer Company.
This popular program provides students with grants of up to $3000 as well as business training, mentoring and guidance as they start up and run their own businesses during the summer months.
To be eligible for the program, students must be 15 to 29 years old, a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and returning to school in the fall.

Furniture Bank

Furniture Bank is a registered charity and social enterprise whose mission is to transfer gently used furniture and household goods donated by individuals or corporations to people who have recently transitioned out of homelessness.
Furniture Bank works in partnership with over 60 community agencies and shelters to assist individuals and families to obtain furniture and household goods for their new homes. These agencies play a critical role by helping to screen potential furniture recipients.

About Us
The Newcomer Information Centre is an innovative program that provides free settlement information to newcomers and residents from a number of accessible locations across Peel and Halton.
A smooth transition into Canadian life is critical to success and our program provides accurate referrals to make this happen. Clients work with friendly multi-lingual staff and get confidential counselling about settlement, employment, health, housing, education, language training, immigration issues and more. Counsellors speak Punjabi, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Romanian, Croatian, Russian, Serbian, French, German, Polish, Swahili, Tamil, Hindi, Bulgarian and Pashto.
Drop by at any of our locations to speak with a counsellor. No appointment is required.
