Delivered by Lighthouse Business Innovation Centre and Anne-Marie Perret
Does this mean anything to you?
The R&D Tax Incentive is a targeted, generous and easy to access entitlement program that helps businesses offset some of the costs of doing R&D. The Program aims to help more businesses do R&D and innovate. It is a broad-based entitlement program. This means that it is open to firms of all sizes in all sectors who are conducting eligible R&D. It provides more generous support for businesses, especially small and medium-sized firms, than the R&D Tax Concession that it replaced (AusIndustry website, 2012).
In layman's terms the R&D Tax Credit is a generous rebate scheme that can help a company undertaking eligible R&D with cash flow. But how do you know if you are eligible? How do you apply? And what is the process going forward?
Anne-Marie Perret has been helping clients undertaking research and development to access R&D tax incentives and grant funding since 2001. She advises companies of all sizes from small start ups through to large multinational companies. Anne-Marie's clients include companies in the IT, renewable energy, defence, utilities, biotechnology and property sectors. After more than 13 years working with Big 4 consulting firms Anne-Marie is now working directly with her clients in Canberra and Sydney. Anne-Marie is based in Canberra and supports local companies through her involvement with a number of key organisations in the ACT Capital region. The session will be facilitated by Anna Pino of Lighthouse Business Innovation Centre.
Anne-Marie will approach this topic from a practical perspective, using case studies drawn from her many years working with new and established entrepreneurs in the ACT. She will also provide an overview of the application process.
The ideal participant in this session is the operator of a new or established high-growth or expanding business currently undertaking or planning to undertake what they believe are R&D activities.
Master Classes are strictly limited to 20 to maximise the opportunity for participants to have their specific questions answered. If you are interested in attending, please book. You will be contacted by phone to confirm your booking and to answer just a couple of quick questions specifically about what you hope to address in the session.
