We completed our recent run of shows with the PAN show in Monroeville, PA in mid-May. As usual, we acquired quite a few wonderful coins, including nearly twenty Liberty Seated halves (not counting several we sent out for grading), several tough date Seated dollars, some nice Bust quarters and a few choice Bust halves. Two of the Bust halves we acquired are a wonderfully toned 1806 in PCGS AU-50, and an amazingly attractively obverse toned 1817 pedigreed to the fabulous Pittman collection (shown below). Our nicest acquisition was a PCGS AU-53 example of the rare 1858-S quarter (shown below). If you are looking for an 1858-S in a lower grade, we also obtained a PCGS VF-35 and a raw VG-10.
The PAN show was very active and it seemed that we were very busy at our table, both buying and selling. Sales met our somewhat aggressive expectations, and buying was good also. For those who think the coin market is in the doldrums, in our last newsletter we offered an 1823/2 quarter in PCGS Good-4, and it sold in five minutes!
All of our coins including the following newps are posted on our website www.richuhrichcoins.com. If you see any coin(s) of interest, please call (717)533-2935 or (717)579-8238 (cell) or e-mail us at [email protected] to reserve the coin(s) that you want.OUR NEWPS ARE:

The E-Gobrecht is a great source of information on Liberty Seated coins |
I just received the latest issue of the E-Gobrecht, which is a monthly e-mail publication issued by Bill Bugert. For those of you who are not familiar with the E-Gobrecht, the latest issue includes monthly columns on Auction News, The Curious Collector, Quarter of the Month, The Strike Zone, and articles on varieties found at the Denver Coin Expo, Liberty Seated Dime contemporary counterfeits, and the 1859-S Seated dollar in the contemporary California press.
The publication is available only in e-mail format, please e-mail Bill Bugert at [email protected] to be added to the mailing list. |
Looking Toward The Future
|
My next local show is the Baltimore show Thursday, June 26 thru Saturday, June 28, at the Baltimore Convention Center Hall A (Table #803). After that, my next show is ANA in Chicago (Rosemont) at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (Table #723) Tuesday, August 5 thru Saturday, August 9. Both of these shows are large and well worth attending, and if you go to one or both of those shows, please stop by and say hello!
