Week 23 Quality Report

Since 2009, White Horse Laboratories has been publishing our Weekly Quality Reports, which is a listing of the devices that have had over 5% lot failure in electrical testing or the buyer has rejected the lot following results of inspection methods

While this list is not exhaustive (for example, a 5% failure rate may be too high or some buyers may accept devices in a physical condition that others would not), it is intended to an indicator as to what is going on in the market and is a reminder to be aware of the risks of sourcing without adequate quality control measures in place.

Holiday Notice - Dragon Boat Festival

Saturday June 20 - Monday June 22

One of the most exciting holidays of the year is upon us, the Dragon Boat Festival!

The festival is in the honor of the legend of Qu Yuan, he drowned himself in the river rather than see his country occupied and conquered by the State of Qin during China's Warring States period.

The holiday period includes the dragon boat races, now conducted globally, in symbolic reference to the boats that rushed into the river attempting to save Qu Yuan. Narrow boats are brilliantly decorated, all featuring the head of a dragon and beating drums to set the rhythm for the oarsmen.

If you are are anywhere where dragon boats races are held, it's well worth it to go watch and get carried away by the excitement.

Both our Hong Kong and China operations will be closed on Saturday, June 20, thru Monday, June 22, and will resume normal operations on Tuesday, June 23. Of course if anything is urgent, you can always contact me.

ON Semiconductor NCP362CMUTBG (Date Code "4" per code, 08+) - 100% Failure Rate - Low output voltage, Vo, at spec'd load and high output voltage at no load.

Samsung LTM170E8-L01 (Date Code not marked or labeled) - 17% Failure Rate- Horizontal line on display panel.

NXP Semiconductor PESD1CAN,215 (Date Code 1509) - 7% Failure Rate - Low capacitance and the diode was not bidirectional.

Panasonic EEFUE0E271XR (Serial Number R4909RUES008) - 100% Failure Rate - High capacitance.

ON Semiconductor NCP362CMUTBG 100% Failure for incorrect output voltages.
