Week 20 Quality Report

Since 2009, White Horse Laboratories has been publishing our Weekly Quality Reports, which is a listing of the devices that have had over 5% lot failure in electrical testing or the buyer has rejected the lot following results of inspection methods

While this list is not exhaustive (for example, a 5% failure rate may be too high or some buyers may accept devices in a physical condition that others would not), it is intended to an indicator as to what is going on in the market and is a reminder to be aware of the risks of sourcing without adequate quality control measures in place.

Holiday Closure
Monday, May 25, Buddha's Birth - Hong Kong

White Horse's Hong Kong facility will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of the public holiday remembering the firth of Buddha. We will return to normal operations on Tuesday, May 26. This does not interrupt our regular work cycle of being open for a half day on Saturday, May 23. Our Shenzhen operations are not affected by this holiday.

Siddhartha Gautama lived during the 6th to 4th centuries B.C. According to the most widely known story of his life, after experimenting with different teachings for years, and finding none of them acceptable, Gautama spent a night in deep meditation. During that meditation, all of the answers he had been seeking became clear and he achieved full awareness, thereby becoming Buddha ("enlightened one" or "the awakened").

Samsung LTM1708E8-L01 (Date Code not marked or labeled) - 8% Failure Rate - Horizontal lines, dead pixels, immediately shut down, and non-functional modules.

Altera EP4CE22I8LN (Date Code 1313) - 100% Failure Rate - Cannot access the JTAG chain.

Xilinx XC5VSX95T-2FFG1136I (Date Code 1437) - 57% Failure Rate - Program Error.

Xilinx XC9572-10TQG100C (Date Code 1416) - 6% Failure Rate - Version 0000 failure, program error and wrong ID code.

Victor VI-JWL-IW (Date Code not marked or labeled) - 100% Failure Rate - Low output while input was within 18-21V and no output at higher voltages.
