Week 20 Summary

Electrical Testing yields continued their pattern of stabilization while Inspection yields made a comeback in Week 20.

Testing yields once again checked in at 73% in Week 20 and have been relatively stable at 70-75% for the past seven weeks.

Inspection yields bounced back from a dreadful 48% in Week 19 to post a 14-point improvement and reached 62% in Week 20.

There were nine part numbers with electrical failure rates of over 5% on the list this week, two of which had a 100% failure rate and one at 92%.

Holiday Announcement - Dragon Boat Festival (Monday, June 2)

Dragon Boats

The festival commemorates the death of the poet and minister Qu Yuan of the ancient state of Chu during the Warring States period of the Zhou Dynasty. The Chu king made an alliance with the powerful state of Qin, to which Qu was great opposed as he felt the Qin were not to be trusted in their thirst to dominate all of China. For this Qu was banished, and even accused of treason.

Twenty-eight years later, Qin captured Ying, the Chu capital. In despair, Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River.

It is said that people raced out in their boats to save him, and this is said to have been the origin of dragon boat races. The dragon boat races are now held around the globe, and particularly in China, Hong Kong, and countries with a strong Chinese community.

When Qu's body could not be found, balls of sticky rice were dropped into the river so that the fish would eat them instead of Qu Yuan's body. This is said to be the origin of zongzi (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf).

White Horse's Hong Kong and China operations will be closed on Monday, June 2nd, and will resume standard operations on Tuesday, June 3.
