Week 14 Summary                                                                        

 

Electrical Testing staged a comeback while Inspection yields slid for a second straight week.

 

Testing yields jumped back to 77% in Week 14 after an abysmal 35% in Week 13.

 

Inspection yields, though, fell again to 71% in Week 14, sliding for a second week after drifting to 80% in Week 13.

 

There were six lots in total with higher than a 5% failure rate, one of which (a Philips part) had a 100% failure rate.

May Day Holiday (International Labor Day) 

  

  • Our Shenzhen laboratory will be closed from Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 3, reopening on Sunday May 4.
  • Our Client Services office and Hong Kong facility (logistics, warehousing, packaging, and inspection) will be closed on Thursday, May 1, only and otherwise will maintain regular operating hours to minimize the impact of the holiday.
  • Note that shipments made from the lab on Wednesday, April 30, will therefore be shipping from Hong Kong on Friday, May 2.
  • If your April invoicing depends on shipping from Hong Kong within April, please have suppliers deliver early accordingly. Note that many trading companies in China observe the same holiday schedule as our laboratory.
  • Our Hong Kong facility will also be closed on Tuesday, May 6, for Buddha's Birthday. Yup, believe it.

Philips BYD77G (Date Code not marked or labeled) - 100% Failure Rate - low Vbr.

 

Allegro Microsystems A6278ELW-T (Date Code 1031) - 14% Failure Rate - no switching or high supply current at no load.

 

On Semiconductor NIS5112D1R2G (Date Code A07) - 8% Failure Rate - Low output voltage at high enable input.

 

Xilinx Corporation XC9572-7PCG84C (Date Code 1317) - 17% Failure Rate - Program error and no output.

 

Philips BYD77G - 100% Failure Rate for low Breakdown Voltage (Vbr). 
Notes:

1. Statistics are calculated as a percentage of all lots dis-positioned within the given time period.

2. "Accept" is defined as customer acceptance of report device condition.

3. "Pass" is defined as meeting electrical parameters defined by the agreed upon test plan.
