Chinese New Year Schedule Reminder
2014 - The Year of the Horse

Our China facilities be closed on January 31 through February 9, returning on Monday, February 10th. 

 

Our Hong Kong operation will be closed on January 31 through February 3, returning on Tuesday, February 4th.

 

Please note, as the actual first day of the three-day festival is on the 31st, many people leave several days in advance to be home for the first day of the holiday, and many need to leave days before that in order to secure tickets (which are obviously in short demand when millions are travelling at the same time).

 

Most of the markets in Shenzhen close on the 24th, this Friday. We need to ship from the lab on the 29th in order to get to Hong Kong on the 30th for final shipment as Hong Kong is closed on the 31st.

Week 2 Summary                                                                        

 

Electrical Testing yields climbed from 71% to a more respectable 86% in Week 2 of 2014.

 

Inspection yields also tried to get back on the track to respectability by making a 32-point improvement to 61% from its woeful start of 29%. While that is an improvement, it shows that there are a lot of parts out there that don't even make it to testing.

 

There were three lots with higher than a 5% failure rate, two of which had 100%, indicating outright counterfeit devices.

Altera EP2S90F1020I4N (Date Code 1007) - 100% Failure Rate - Program error.

 

Atmel AT29C020-90JU (Date code 0726) - 100% Failure Rate - ID and blank-check errors.

 

Xilinx XC3042A-7PC84C (Date Code 0913) - 5% Failure Rate - cannot load bitstream via PROM mixed with no output.

Resurfaced AT29C020-90JU - Failed Electrical Test for ID Error

1. Statistics are calculated as a percentage of all lots dis-positioned within the given time period.

2. "Accept" is defined as customer acceptance of report device condition.

3. "Pass" is defined as meeting electrical parameters defined by the agreed upon test plan.
