"Spot On" Counterfeit Detection

Workshop

Mark Rinehart will be hosting a counterfeit detection workshop during the ES Live event in Milton Keynes, UK, on May 16. 

 

This interactive workshop will focus on External Visual Inspection (EVI) techniques to identify substandard and counterfeit electronic components, and how/when to supplement EVI with more advanced inspection methods and electrical testing.

 

There will be case studies and live samples taken through full profile testing and inspection methods to illustrate at what point counterfeiting can be confirmed.

Electrical Testing yields saw a brief flare in Week 13, up to over 70%, before falling again to 50% to fall to five weeks of decline to only week of improvement.

 

With volumes increasing since March, the list and range of high failure rate devices reaching 12 different devices having a high failure rate.

 

Inspection yields also dipped in Weeks 13 and 14, failing again to 61% buyer acceptance in Week 13 and again to 50% in Week 14.
