Policy Change: Unattended Childrenpolicy
The Rapid City Public Libraries' Board and staff hope that children and parents find the libraries inviting and enjoyable and will visit often.

Effective October 1, 2013, children 8 and under must be under the direct supervision of a responsible party age 16 or older.

At RCPL North, the policy is in effect on weekends and after 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. This policy was adopted in the interest of children's safety as well as for the benefit of other library patrons.
