Off the Shelf Book Club ZEITOUN by David Eggers
"ZEITOUN"
by David Eggers

Saturday, February 16
1:00 p.m. at Bully Blends
(908 Main St.)

This book is based on the true story of Abdulrahman Zeitoun, a Syrian-born entrepreneur who owns a painting company in New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, his wife and children leave town and he stays behind to keep an eye on their properties.

This story describes how he helps stranded people and animals and ends up getting arrested because he is mistaken for a thief. His ordeal and what he is subjected to in the temporary jail and afterwards is the main subject of the book.

This discussion group meets on the 3rd Saturday each month. We read one book or featured author a month and have an informal, casual discussion. For more info, visit RCPL-Off the Shelf on Goodreads.com.
