Nine years ago, when Tim Traud, Vice President & Division CFO at Jabil, was invited by Crisis Center board member Katie Thompson to take a tour, he wasn't sure what to expect. On the tour, he learned that sexual assault victims no longer were taken to an overcrowded hospital emergency room. Instead, they come to the Crisis Center where they are greeted by a compassionate nurse and an advocate who immediately help the victim begin their transformation to a survivor. He learned that children who have been physically and sexually abused receive specialized trauma counseling and are able to return to being happy and healthy.
After seeing all of the service areas, he knew the Crisis Center was in a very special place. In a matter of weeks he was involved with the Crisis Center both as a volunteer and as a donor. Within 6 months, he was serving on the Board of Directors and was Chair of the Crisis Center's finance committee.
He and his wife Elizabeth's support of the Crisis Center has grown over the years. They started by making regular donations to the Crisis Center. When the Crisis Center launched the Sustainer Society, they made a 5 year commitment and joined as founding members. They again showed their leadership and support of the Crisis Center when they made a $25,000 donation as founding members of the President's Circle.
As a long-term Tampa Bay resident, Tim knows that his support of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay helps people in our own community. Tim shares his thoughts about why he is so committed to the Crisis Center's mission.
"It's the dedication and passion of everyone at the Crisis Center. Staff, volunteers, and donors are passionate about making a difference. And they're not satisfied with past achievements; they are constantly striving to find new ways to help those in our community who are suffering."
The Crisis Center appreciates the support of volunteers and donors like Tim & Elizabeth. There are multiple ways to follow their example in supporting the Crisis Center including joining the Sustainer Society, the Circle of Caring, and the Legacy Society.
