Ella Bing Hosts Bacon & Bow Ties Fundraiser

For many years the bow tie was a fashion accessory relegated to the most formal of occasions. It would make an appearance at weddings or would be seen circulating the room at a Saturday evening gala.

Recently, the bow tie has made its way back into everyday fashion. This resurgence was evident on May 19th at Datz in South Tampa when Ella Bing hosted the Bacon & Bow Ties fundraiser to benefit the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Men and women donned their favorite bow tie and enjoyed a fun evening of raffles, prizes, drink specials and a gourmet bacon bar.

Ella Bing is a business owned by the Kraus family that specializes in both cloth and wood bow ties, as well as other male fashion and lifestyle accessories. The company was founded after Matthew Kraus took his own life in 2010. The Kraus family honors Matthew's spirit, infectious personality and love of fashion with handmade custom bow ties, much like Matthew himself would have worn. In an effort to raise awareness for suicide prevention programs, Ella Bing proudly donates 10% of every sale to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.
