Turning Tampa Bay Teal with Take Back the Night!
On Sunday, April 27th, survivors of sexual assault along with community supporters, friends and family members will gather at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa for an evening of empowerment and healing at Take Back the Night. Survivors of sexual assault often feel alone, afraid and angry. At Take Back the Night, we affirm our support of these brave survivors.
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay provides a continuum of care for sexual violence survivors, which include advocacy services and empowerment programs that help the survivor tap into their strengths to regain their voice. Events like Take Back the Night provide an empowerment opportunity where people can receive strength and encouragement from a community of survivors and supporters.
Presented by the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay in collaboration with the Sexual Violence Task Force of Tampa Bay, Take Back the Night is a free, open to the public, interactive event that creates awareness, empowers survivors, and educates the community about sexual violence.
Serving as emcees for this year's Take Back the Night event are ABC Action News Anchors Brendan McLaughlin and Wendy Ryan. The event includes live music, a survivor speak out, empowerment march, men's pledge, and candlelight vigil. The event starts at 4:00pm.
Please join us for Take Back the Night to show your support for survivors in our community. We're asking everyone in our community to spread the word about Take Back the Night 2014. You can click HERE to visit the Take Back the Night event page.
