Providing for the Next Generation with a Legacy Gift
Over 30 people gathered at Mise en Place restaurant on March 19th for the Crisis Center's annual Legacy Society lunch sponsored by PNC Bank. They heard from Crisis Center CEO, David Braughton, about the difference between "being remembered and making an impact" when thinking about planning for the next generation. Legacy Council member, David Rieth, provided valuable, expert information about specific estate planning vehicles and Bonnie McNatt Bush told a powerful story about her daughter Wendy, who died of cancer several years ago. Bonnie honors Wendy by including the Crisis Center in her estate plans.
The Legacy Society is a philanthropic group of people who have included the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay in their estate plans. Planned gifts help sustain the Crisis Center so the next generation can receive help, hope and healing in their time of crisis. There are multiple planned giving options available to people of all income levels, including simply making the Crisis Center a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay has an extensive history of serving the community. It's work has already impacted multiple generations of families in the Tampa Bay area. In 1972, the Suicide and Crisis Hotline was established by a group of volunteers and concerned citizens. Over the course of 40 years, the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay has expanded services in response to community needs. It continues to offer comprehensive services to people in the Tampa Bay community that include 2-1-1, family stabilization, sexual assault services, TransCare, and trauma counseling.
