Donors Help Teresa Get Back on Her Feet
By supporting the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, you're helping people like Teresa get back on a solid financial footing. Teresa was physically assaulted
by her boyfriend multiple times. The brutality of his final assault left her temporarily unable to work, on disability, with no health insurance. She contacted the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and was connected to the Family Stabilization service area. Family Stabilization at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay includes a variety of intervention and case management services designed to meet basic needs, prevent homelessness, enhance self-sufficiency, and stabilize acute financial and emotional crises of families and individuals. Teresa's Crisis Center case manager was able to help her pay her rent for the month.
The following is a letter Teresa sent to her case manager.
Dear Ms. Diaz,
Please accept my sincerest gratitude for all of your assistance in helping get my life back on track and regain my independence since the life threatening battery I suffered. Having been unable to work as a result of my head trauma and all my savings exhausted, I was in a panic to pay my rent and at least keep a roof over my head while I am on a slow road to recovery.
You offered me warmth, compassion, understanding and the support I desperately needed but do not like to ask for, which was help paying my rent. There are no words powerful enough to convey my thanks for your assistance and guidance during my times of trial and healing.
Your aura emanates your desire to help those so hurtfully in need and is so calming even in the middle of a panic attack. You possess an invaluable gift and are truly blessed that you found your perfect calling.
Most sincerely,
Teresa
