The Difference You're Making

Once again this summer, we'll be enjoying our favorite superheroes on the

big screen. Our society loves to see those caped and costumed characters arrive at the last minute to save the city from certain doom.

I must admit, I'm entertained but I'm not impressed. The reason: because every day I have the privilege of interacting with real-life superheroes who help to rescue people from crisis. In this issue you'll read about one of those superheroes, Monroe Berkman. Monroe is an exceptional man who made a

very generous donation to our van transportation service. He, and other donors like him, are my inspiration.

As the Vice President of Development at the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, I help raise funds the Crisis Center uses to provide life-saving services to our community. Without the community support of our donors, the Crisis Center would not be able to help thousands of families in Tampa Bay each year.

Donors allow the Crisis Center to implement a truly innovative empowerment program for survivors of sexual assault so they can build resiliency and have a safe place to heal.

Donors allow the Crisis Center to provide financial education to families and resources to help keep the electricity on in their apartment.

Donors allow the Crisis Center to provide counseling to a young girl who doesn't feel safe because she was abused by a family member.

So this summer, I'll be entertained by some of those big screen superheroes, but I won't be impressed. I will be impressed when I arrive at the Crisis Center and I see the positive impact our donors are having on people's lives.

If you aren't one of our heroes yet, I'd like to provide you with an opportunity. Please click on this LINK to make an online donation to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. This is a quick and easy way to make an impact in your community.
