Community Rallies Around Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at Cup of Compassion 2013
The mission of the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is to bring help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges or trauma resulting from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, emotional or situational problems.
It requires millions of dollars to fund Crisis Center services such as the 2-1-1 call center, trauma counseling, sexual assault services, suicide prevention, and family stabilization financial counseling. A significant portion of this revenue comes through individuals and organizations that donate their financial resources to assure that we are able to continue meeting the needs of our community.
This year's Cup of Compassion breakfast was held on February 7th at A La
Carte Event Pavilion. Emcee and ABC Action News Anchor, Brendan McLaughlin, welcomed 37 table captains and their guests to this early morning event. Over 400 people were inspired by keynote speaker and Tampa Bay Lightning CEO, Tod Leiweke. Juli Sparks shared her personal story of healing as a client in the Corbett Trauma Center and Family Stabilization. After learning about Crisis Center programs and services, breakfast attendees responded by donating over $390,000.
Over 183,000 times each year, the Crisis Center brings help, hope and healing to people in need. Get involved and give back by clicking on the following link: http://www.crisiscenter.com/content/7/Donate.aspx
