Oklahoma City financial planner Melinda Warren says her partnership with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is a great asset in helping her clients achieve their charitable giving goals.
A certified financial planner (CFP) and accredited investment fiduciary (AIF), Melinda works with a number of clients through her firm Hughes Warren, Inc., who are interested in incorporating charitable giving into their estate plans. Through her involvement with the Oklahoma Planned Giving Council, she began working with community foundation staff and realized the relationship would be a great fit for her clients.
"Our clients come from various walks of life," Melinda says. "I have found that the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is very adept at meeting the charitable giving needs of many people who have dreams and goals of making those gifts to a plethora of charities."
Among the clients she has referred to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is an individual who wanted to make a gift of appreciated stock to support his alma mater. After making the gift, the client was impressed at how easy the process was and encouraged other alumni members to work with the community foundation to make similar gifts.
Melinda says that the professionalism of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation staff, combined with the flexibility to accommodate her clients' individual needs has been a real benefit for her firm.
"It has been a privilege to work with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation," Melinda says. I look forward to many more years of working with them."
