Last week I admitted to being behind the eight-ball and this week, ack, it feels like I'm still out in the pool hall parking lot.

There's a rule of thumb out there that says newsletters should only contain between and three and five news items. Any more, and the reader will feel fatigued and give up altogether. It occurred to me recenlty that a tired writer made up that rule whilst under deadline and that it isn't true at all.

Tomorrow is the first Sunday of Advent and the pastors are starting a new series, "Now It's Personal." Each week, we'll hear personal faith stories from each Newport Covenant pastor -- tomorrow we kick off with Pastor Amy.

Bring your checkbooks and/or you cash, ladies! In addition to being the first Sunday of Advent and the first Sunday of our giving trees ... tomorrow is the last day to buy tickets to the Women's Christmas Luncheon. Ten dollars buys you lunch, fancy place settings, an inspirational speaker, serenading waiters, carols.

(Remember! if you require childcare for this event, you must! RSVP to Pastor Mary.

And, <drum roll> coming soon to a family center / gymnasium near you -- Angel Alert! December 14th, yet another amazing production from director and magic-maker Sue Banks. Tell your friends, especially ones with little people.
