At this year's vacation church school, we sang "All Around the World" that had a refrain"It's Amazing." and the corresponding hand motion was to get your arms over your head, flex wrists and press palms heaven-ward. Six months later, my twin girls and I still use that sign to express amazement.  (Need a visual? Click here for the video.) 

 

It is tricky to sign amazing and type about it at the same time. So promise me that as you read this, arms up, palms facing heaven!  

 

 Last month, Newport Covenant was blessed to have Reverend Paul Devakumar as a guest speaker. Reverend Paul founded India for Christ Ministries (IFCM) in 1988 with the goal of reaching millions in India with the gospel of Jesus.   

 

Thanks to the generosity of the Newport Covenant Church community, the October 5th special contribution to IFCM exceeded $15,000. Fifteen thousand dollars. That's amazing. (arms up, palms up!) That's more than enough to plant and sustain a new church in India for one full year.  

 

NCC has committed to supporting the new church plant for the next five years. Start up funds of $6,000 have been wired to IFCM's bank in India and more will be sent on a regular basis once the plant has been started. 

 

The Missions and Outreach team here at NCC will provide regular updates on the progress of our church plant. Thanks to everyone who is supporting this great work of growing new disciples for Jesus Christ.

Meet at church at 5.45 for an unforgettable dining experience. (note to high schoolers: there is NO WNL program on this night.)

Sat 22 November: We Think You Can Dance
Learn simple dance moves from choreographer Jo Chavez and in no time you'll be auditioning for Dancing with the Stars. (Or, better yet,  Camelot!)

Sat 22 November: H.S. Night on the Town

High schoolers meet at the church at 5.00, get dressed up and join us for a night on the town. Cost is $20.
