Dr.
David Farrar's expertise is in the psychology of business.  David is an Australian living in the U.S. since 2001 and a trained psychologist with international experience as an executive, consultant and speaker.
 
Dr. Farrar will keynote the annual Deans and Directors Retreat, February 26-28, 2016, which will be hosted by Miami Dade College in Florida.  His topic will be "Collaborative and Innovative Leadership."
 
David works with clients in order to improve what matters most in their business, such as customer satisfaction, employee wellbeing, productivity and profitability-many if not most of the challenges our Deans and Directors of programs face.
 
Over the two days, this year's Retreat will also have presenters on the topics of:
  • Increasing Revenue by Increasing Retention ad Graduation Rates
  • Managing Technological Resources
  • Managing Financial Resources
  • Managing Physical Resources
There will also be lunchtime speakers on the topics of international experiences and alumni development.
 
The fee for Membership/Registration in the Deans and Directors Council Retreat is $350 if registered before December 1, 2015.  It increases to $400 after that date.

A good time was had by all in the Dessert Trends' workshop in Charleston, October 16-18.  We had some exceptional presentations on subjects ranging from industry trends to chocolate/cheese pairings...we heard about street desserts; re-making traditional dishes; gluten-free presentations; and how to incorporate jams/jellies into your curriculum.
