e is an excellent opportunity for you to be a presenter at the 2016 CAFÉ Leadership Conference to be held in Chicago, June 23-25.
 
The Educational Best Practices Day will feature secondary and postsecondary instructors, deans, and directors who have put forth a topic of interest for culinary/baking/pastry/hospitality instructors.
 
Topics can range from assessment to motivation, from innovative team projects to challenging the culture...your ideas are ones that are of interest and have proven effective.
 
The proposal guidelines can be found here.  You need to get an outline of your idea to the Committee Chair, Dr. Fred Mayo, by October 16th.  If you need a few more days, reach out to Dr. Mayo at MayoConsulting@aol.com.

DEANS AND DIRECTORS RETREAT

If you are a postsecondary dean or director (or you can pass this on to YOUR dean or director), don't miss the opportunity to network and learn at this annual Deans and Directors Retreat.
 
This is an issues-driven event.  Outside speakers are brought in to supplement our community's presenters so that you leave with new thinking patterns as well as some great case studies as to what works and what doesn't.
 
The challenges are all the same no matter where you are:  admissions, retention, resources, technology, team work and more.
