SEPTEMBER 8, 2015
Chef Kami Smith, Corporate Pastry Chef for Dawn Food products, will keynote the upcoming Dessert Trends Workshop in Charleston, October 16-20, 2015.
 
Prior to joining to world of food manufacturing, Kami began her life of pastry arts with the team at Emeril's Restaurants, then Marriott International in New Orleans, LA.  Kami then moved on to the Executive Pastry Chef position at The Troutdale Dining Room Restaurant in Southwest, VA. 
 
Chef Kami then joined the team at Virginia Intermont College where she opened "Red Blanket Bakery & Café" -a community bakery/ culinary student center, and soon became the local star of "Cooking with Chef Kami" in East Tennessee. 
 
Kami's love for Southern pastries and indulgent desserts led her to be the Research Pastry Chef for Schwan's Bakery- R&D in Atlanta, GA where she and her team designed unique multi-layered cakes and cheesecakes for National Accounts around the country. 
 
Chef Kami's presentation will focus on what the foodservice industry has discovered through its research as dessert trends.
