ALTERNATE HOTELS FOR NIAGARA FALLS EVENT

We've sold out our block (and then some!) at the Sheraton in Niagara Falls.  However, our host program director has recommended that folks look at the Wingate Hotel by Wyndham which just opened last week!  You can go online to see their reasonable prices and the walk is only about a block longer to the school.  Go to https://www.facebook.com/WingateNiagaraFalls.  Depending on the number of nights that you stay (2 or 3), there are discounts offered which make this an affordable choice.

The CAFÉ office also has some additional hotels to recommend if you need them.

HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH VENDORS

This will be one topic at our Trends Session presented by Kevin Barron, Director of Territory Sales (Western Region) for Sysco.

          • Do you know what your vendor can do to help you?
          • Do you know how much leverage you have?
          • Have you heard of the falsehood of spreadsheet buying?

Kevin has been with Sysco 13 years and in the industry for 30 years.  His perspective as an executive chef, general manager and just about every other position in the business helps him be a resource to his customers in the region.

The Trends presentations are on Saturday, June 20th, as one of our highlights of our Industry Outreach Day.  To sign up for the Leadership Conference go to http://cafemeetingplace.com/cafe-events/2015-leadership-conference

The final agenda can be found at

THINK HONEY!

There will be a special honey beverage station at the opening night reception, June 18th.  Attendees will have the option of tasting both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks featured in the National Honey Board's "Honey at the Bar."  And lunch will feature a special honey Arnold Palmer.

Honey is one of the hottest ingredients in mixology today.  Niagara Falls Culinary Institute's beverage department led by Kurt Guba will answer your questions and offer you these delicious recipes from the newest NHB resource for chefs and educators.

Kurt Guba and Sara Hill from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will be hosting a very special afternoon session on June 18th pairing not only some New York wines but also a wine that is bottled by the college!  You'll taste them with an extraordinary lineup of Wisconsin cheeses.  A perfect way to spend time between visits to the Falls!

To sign up for the pairing class, you can call the CAFÉ office at 410-268-5542.
