Chef Annmarie Chelius, CHE, CCE, CWPC, instructor at The Academy of Culinary Arts in Mays Landing, New Jersey, will be presenting a breakout session at the 11th Annual CAFÉ Leadership Conference during its Educational Best Practices Day.

BRAIN TIPS!

The focus of this presentation is to encourage educators to incorporate holistic tips and techniques   which help foster student success via higher energy and concentration during class.  Simple yoga postures along with healthy eating tips which stimulate brain function will be introduced.  Participants will enjoy learning how to energize students in a calm and serene manner through the practice of meditation.  The session will conclude with a live rap performed by " The Queen of Lean" in an effort to underscore the importance of a healthy diet.

Chef Chelius started her career as a pastry chef in the local casino industry.  In addition to her pastry specialty, she has also had extensive experience working with hot foods, particularly in the catering industry.

She has been the recipient of the IPC Innovation Award, the Spirit of Women "Community Hero in Action" Award and has been a gold medalist in the two New York Food Shows.

This session will discuss basic requirements of the brain to keep it in good health as well as demonstrate yoga (!) techniques which help stimulate the brain.  Her students love her courses and you will discover why!
