ANOTHER GREAT AWARD!!

 

Sysco Corporation and CAFÉ Partner to Unveil New Award for Foodservice Educators

 

Sysco Corporation, in conjunction with CAFÉ, announces its sponsorship of the new annual CAFÉ/Sysco Foodservice Educator of the Year Award launching in 2015. One secondary instructor and one postsecondary instructor will be honored.

 

Each awardee will receive $1,500 plus a complimentary registration to CAFÉ's 2015 Leadership Conference in Niagara Falls, N.Y., June 18-20, hosted by Niagara Culinary Institute-a new, state-of-the-art, 90,000-sq.-ft. training center only one block from historic Niagara Falls.

 

Nominees for the new CAFÉ/Sysco Foodservice Educator of the Year Award should submit letters, documentations and endorsements that prove the individual's commitment to quality education as well as to his/her students and the advancement of the culinary, baking & pastry and hospitality professions.

 

Nomination packets must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2015, and mailed to the CAFÉ office. (CAFÉ will not accept electronic submissions.) Award recipients will be notified no later than May 1, 2015. Winners must attend the Leadership Conference to receive their awards.

 

There is no application form. Five copies of each nomination and supporting documents should be mailed to:

Recipients will be selected based on the narratives submitted along with their résumés and letters of endorsement.

CHEESE, CHEESE AND MORE CHEESE!!!!

 

There was an overwhelming response to the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) and Emmi Roth Cheese Education Kit Giveaway!  Close to 200 instructors applied for the Cheese Education Kit. 

 

WMMB and Emmi Roth will be contacting all of the winners of the Great Cheese Giveaway and shipping the Kits to them during the week of November 3rd.

 

For those who did not come in as the first 30, stay tuned!  The Sponsors will be in contact with you and hope to help you find additional resources for teaching cheese in your classrooms.

 

Thank you all for your amazing response!  We are happy to see that cheese education is considered a necessary part of so many school programs.  Both WMMB and Emmi Roth work hard in their outreach to the educational community.  Be sure to "friend" Emmi Roth on Facebook to watch for more opportunities for learning.

The invitations for the 2015 Postsecondary Deans and Directors Retreat have been mailed!  "Measurements of Success" is the theme and the weekend program in February is full of meaningful speakers to help attendees in their building blocks of program success.
