The FREE Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival will be the same weekend as CAFÉ's "Health and Food" Seminar in New Orleans!
Both events are October 17-19, 2014. CAFÉ's Seminar will give you time to enjoy Saturday evening at the FREE Festival which is only a few blocks from the hotel at Lafayette Square Park. Check out the Festival at http://www.jazzandheritage.org/blues-fest/
The CAFÉ Seminar will be hosted by the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine at Tulane University in their new facility on Broad Street.
The weekend will begin on Friday afternoon with presentations by Dr. Tim Harlan of Tulane and Leah Sarris, the Director of the Culinary Medicine Center.
Saturday and Sunday attendees will hear from both the hospitality as well as the medical community on joint efforts in promoting the concept of healthy, delicious food.
In addition there will be kitchen time to re-engineer some classic recipes, as well as breakout sessions on developing sensory analysis skills and exercises as well as a session on working on your curriculum to incorporate activities that can be duplicated in any level of culinary arts training.
Attendees will be awarded ACF continuing education credits and will receive a chef's jacket and knife kit along with lunches, conference materials, and a bag full of educational resources from our sponsor partners.
Registration for the event is limited to 50 because of space. First come, first served. You can register on line at http://cafemeetingplace.com/cafe-events/health-and-food. Hotel information can be found at http://www.cafemeetingplace.com/pdf/events/hotel_neworleands2014.pdf
Bonus: The WWII Museum is two blocks from our hotel. This is a fabulous facility which I highly recommend!
