Bernard Martinage from the Federation of Dining Room Professionals will present at the Educational Best Practices Day during the CAFÉ Leadership Conference on the topic of how an educator connects with students.
The amount of learning that actually takes place in a classroom is mostly governed by the behavior of the instructor. It is one thing for students to have a good time in class and quite another to have them retain useful information. This presentation attempts to show how both concepts are achievable with the implementation of a set of communication "rules" designed to enhance these key elements of any student/educator relationship: Mutual Respect; Instructor Credibility; and Sincere Interest.
Bernard Martinage, HGM, CHE, is an industry veteran of 36 years and author of "The Professional Service Guide." He is president and director of education of the Federation of Dining Room Professionals which is the only internationally recognized hospitality certification body endorsed by the ACF and the International Sommelier Guild.
The 10th Annual CAFÉ Leadership Conference will be held in Salt Lake City, June 19-21. For hotel information and online registration, go to http://cafemeetingplace.com/cafe-events/2014-leadership-conference
