MANAGING CHANGE:  THE 2014'S THEME FOR THE DEANS AND DIRECTORS RETREAT

Join your colleagues in Chicago February 21-23, 2014, for the topic-driven event designed for Deans and Directors of postsecondary culinary arts/hospitality programs.

Highlights include:

  • Opening night media reception hosted by the state of Idaho featuring products from Idaho
  • Keynoters who are experienced with higher education and the challenges that change can create
  • Speakers who will discuss higher education value, trends analysis and social media updates
  • Discussion time which is built into each program
  • ACF continuing education hours
  • Transportation from/to hotel and our host facility, Kendall College

This event is designed by and for program leadership whatever your title is:  Director, Dean, Program Chair, etc.  The emphasis this year is on managing change.  However, the program seeks to balance current issues with future topics.

The Retreat is limited to 50 and we are at the halfway point as of this week.  Hotel rates are extremely reasonable for downtown Chicago and include breakfast.  The hotel deadline is January 31, 2014.

If you have any questions about the Retreat, please call the CAFÉ office at 410-268-5542.  You can see the agenda, hotel information, and register on line at www.CafeMeetingPlace.com under Events.  If you need to be billed, don't hesitate to register off line in order to reserve your space.  Otherwise you can register using a credit card.

LINKEDIN GROUP

I have just discovered a great discussion group on LinkedIn:  The Culinary Educators Group posts requests from educators as well as tips and tricks from all over the U.S.  I posted something this week about The Gold Medal Classroom (CAFÉ's free online magazine) and have been impressed with how the information is shared and who the members of the discussion are.
