- 8-1 lb pieces of Wisconsin cheese, representing all classes of cheese (fresh, soft-ripened, semi-soft, pasta filata, semi-hard, hard, blue, processed
- A template of a Tasting Placemat to facilitate a guided tasting with students
- A power point detailing the basic cheesemaking process, cheese trends and the cheese varieties included in the guided tasting
The chance for students to earn 1 ACF CEH hour for completing the Wisconsin Cheesecyclopedia exam online- 50 copies of "Dairy Products of Wisconsin" for your students
Giveaway is open to the first 10 secondary instructors and the first 40 post secondary instructors that apply.
How do you win?
Submit a one-paragraph description of a classroom activity utilizing the Wisconsin Cheese Education Kit. Include responses to the following:
- 1. What class is this activity a part of?
- 2. How does this activity fit into the overall curriculum of the program?
- 3. How much time is allotted for this activity?
- 4. How will your students use this knowledge in your (or other) class(es)?
- 5. What are other creative ways you might work cheese into your curriculum?
Do I have to use specific cheeses?
Yes, the kit will contain samples, including Roth® Grand Cru® Original, Buttermilk Blue®, GranQueso®, Havarti, and Van Gogh® Processed Smoked Gouda, along with Solé Queso Fresco, Belgioioso Provolone and Belmont Brie. The activity described needs to include these cheese varieties.
Deadlines:
The Contest begins October 7, 2013. All submissions are to be sent electronically to marygpetersen@comcast.net and should include the instructor's contact information including full name, school, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Please put CHEESE EDUCATION in the subject line.
Contest deadline is October 21, 2013.
Winning instructors will receive their kits during the week of November 4th, 2013.

Winning instructors are invited to submit a photo of the classroom activity and students/instructor utilizing the Wisconsin Cheese Education Kit to enter to win a Roth® Signature Cheeseboard Kit (http://www.emmirothfoodservice.com/signature-cheese-board-kit). Who is Eligible?
Secondary and Postsecondary Instructors in Foodservice Programs in the contiguous United States. Sorry, we cannot accept submissions from Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands, or Canada.
