APRIL 1 DEADLINES EXTENDED

Spring breaks plus an early Easter have combined to have us extend the Scholarship and Award Deadlines.  Please look at these categories, especially in light of diminishing professional development funds and realize that CAFÉ has and will continue to help educators with their education in best practices and trends in industry.

Has your program integrated any aspects of food science in its curriculum?  If so, describe what you have done and submit it for an Idaho Potato Commission Scholarship.  Four scholarships will be given out to instructors that will include:  comp registration to the 2013 Leadership Conference or the 2013 Science of Baking Workshop IN ADDITION TO up to $300 in travel reimbursements.  These scholarships are open to both secondary and postsecondary instructors.
DEADLINE IS APRIL 15

CAFÉ Scholarships are also available and require a one-page description of innovation and technology assignments (and any results) which you have instituted in your program. Three Scholarships will be given to secondary instructors and three to postsecondary instructors.  Comp registrations will be awarded to either the Leadership Conference or the Science of Baking Workshop.
DEADLINE IS APRIL 15

CAFÉ/KENDALL COLLEGE GREEN AWARD is open to either secondary or postsecondary programs who describe their efforts in making their program or facility more sustainable/green.  $1,000 cash prize is awarded to the winner along with a comp registration to the CAFÉ Leadership Conference in June.  DEADLINE IS APRIL 15

IDAHO POTATO COMMISSION INNOVATION AWARD is open to either secondary or postsecondary programs who describe an innovation to their program that is able to be duplicated in other programs to enhance their outreach and effectiveness.  This prize has ranged from farming activities to a nutritionally focused children’s book on nutrition.  The winner wins $1,500 in cash; two runners up win $500 in cash.  All winners receive a comp registration to the 2013 Leadership Conference.  Please do not apply if you (or someone from your program) are not able to attend the conference.
