Inspiring World Changers

KidVenture students are blessed to receive scripturally sound messages that are highly relevant to their lives presented by some extremely passionate (sometimes very crazy) leaders through our KIDMO curriculum. Each week kids learn that they are fully capable of making a difference in the world. The name KIDMO actually was built from their "K5" Call to Action which states:

We believe in bible action, not just bible study. We believe that kids are not just the church of tomorrow, but they can be World Changers right now. We understand that after age twelve most people's beliefs are set for life. Therefore, KIDMO's purpose is to inspire World Changers by equiping kids to:

Know God
Integrate a Biblical Worldview
Discover Truth
Make Christ Known
Offer Themselves In Service

KidVenture fully agrees with these statements and we continue to find ways for our children to grow in their faith and become the World Changers we know they can be.

Action Steps

During the Advent season (and throughout the year) take time as a family to be World Changers for someone else. Students received a Christmas Giving Opportunities take-home sheet which listed many ways you can do this. During Advent, we encourage you to select one or more acts of service from this list of opportunities or find one of your own to participate in as a family. If you have done one of them in the past, consider adding an additional step to your participation this year. Many opportunities can be accomplished at no cost to you.

Sign-up to usher or host the coffee service area as a family during a Calvary worship service (extra hands will definitely be needed during our Christmas Eve services on December 23 and 24!): Email amanda.nesby@connectwithcalvary.org with your interest.
If you are already giving a box to Operation Christmas Child, write a special note to the recipient of your box telling him about your family and why God placed it in your heart to share your gifts with him.

Scrip Returns to Calvary

KidVenture is bringing back Scrip! What is Scrip? Scrip is fundraising while you shop. Scrip offers you an opportunity to buy gift cards to many places where you already shop. By purchasing those cards through KidVenture's Scrip program, a percentage of each purchase goes to KidVenture.

Third Grade Bible Blast THIS FRIDAY!

Bible Blast is an overnight event for Third Graders where they will dive into their Bibles and learn all sorts of exciting things about this very important faith tool. Bible Blast will take place Friday-Saturday, November 16-17 from 6:30 pm-8:30 am. Third Graders are allowed to bring guests, so be sure to ask a friend! Online registration is still open!

Operation Christmas Child

Fill a box (shoe box, plastic shoe box-sized container with a lid, or one supplied by the church) with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys to send to a child for Christmas. Suggested items are toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, washcloth, school supplies, flashlights (with batteries), t-shirts, socks, sunglasses. Bring boxes back to Calvary on November 11 & 18. If you'd prefer not to fill an entire box, feel free to bring separate items to the tub at the Atrium table on those dates.

3rd Grade Bible Blast - Friday-Saturday, November 16-17

An exciting retreat for 3rd Graders. The event will take place from 6:30 pm Friday through 8:30 am Saturday. Signup information is listed above.

Operation Christmas Child - Boxes Due By Sunday, November 18

Help bring the gift of Christmas to a child across the world through this special outreach opportunity. For details, see above.

KidVenture Children's Choir Extra Rehearsal - TUESDAY, November 20

We are adding a rehearsal on TUESDAY, November 20 from 6-6:45 pm in order to prepare for the Christmas Concert on Friday, December 7 (and singing in worship on Sunday, December 9!).

An Advent and Christmas celebration for the whole family begins at 6 pm and includes a light meal. Fun activities are planned!

Calvary Choral Dessert Concert - Friday, December 7

Christmas music performances presented by the Calvary Choirs accompanied by homemade goodies!

Birthday Party for Jesus! - Wednesday, December 19

We will celebrate Christ's birth during KidVenture programming from 6:30-7:30 pm. Parents are asked to accompany their kids and share in the celebration! Watch for more information!
