Get out of the kitchen and into Downtown Ferndale for Restaurant Week now through April 26 at 18 amazing restaurants you've got to try. Break away from your routine as we break away from ours offering $10, $20 and $30 options for one or two diners at breakfast, lunch and dinner. 

Downtown Ferndale's Restaurant Week kicks off the spring outdoor cafe season getting you not only out of the kitchen, but outdoors! You can also show your receipt from dining out at local retailers who are offering deals for dining out. 

Do you dabble or specialize in outdoor-medium arts? The Ferndale Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is searching for artists for our ART Town: The Exhibit, a two-year outdoor art exhibition throughout Downtown Ferndale.  The goal of the exhibit is to foster the excitement and interest in public art, serve as a catalyst for private investments and showcase our community as an art town.  The exhibit will consist of 10 artists of various outdoor mediums (ie: sculpture, murals, interactive, 3-D) and will be on display for a two-year duration.  The Ferndale DDA has already secured 8 artists and has teamed up with the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and Ferndale Public Schools in supporting the Artist in You program, but we are looking for two more artists to be part of the exhibit.

Application deadline has been extended until May 1, 2015. Exhibit to be installed by May 31, 2015, and in place on exhibit until May 2017.  

The City of Ferndale has begun its East Nine Mile Road multi-modal and resurfacing project, bringing more street design continuity by improving the walkability and bike connectivity to the east side of Downtown Ferndale.

 One of the first improvements you will see is the dedicated right turns at East Nine Mile onto Woodward with the start of bike lane markings crossing Woodward traveling east. 

East Nine Mile businesses and access to them are OPEN for business during construction. Concrete removal of curb and aprons have begun, and barricades have narrowed the road to two lanes during construction, but traffic continues to flow.

Whether you have one hour per month or one hour per week, the Ferndale DDA needs and wants you to be involved in the development and energy that makes Downtown Ferndale. 

Volunteer opportunities are abound, so let us know how you want to get involved, and we'll find a spot for you! Be it at home, at meetings or at events, we have something for everyone. 

Current needs include Art of the Cocktail day-of-event volunteers, committee volunteers, Holiday Hoof Chairperson and organizers, Holiday Ice Festival volunteers, and many other weekly needs.
