Improv to Improve Your Business
FernNet Teams Up with Go! Comedy for Tips

PJ Jacokes of Go! Comedy is serious about helping businesses improve their business. Tomorrow, March 26, at 9 am, he will share his insights in a presentation for FernNet, the Ferndale DDA's B2B Networking opportunity. The session will be held at Go! Comedy on East Nine Mile.
The Go! team of experts, led by Jacokes, know that the tenets of improv often parallel the ingredients of being solid in business. By using what they teach to developing improvisers, Go! helps businesses owners and employers learn how to be better listeners, cooperate with each other, feel more comfortable on the sales floor and succeed, with a bonus of enjoying life. Wednesdays Tip session will be a preview to the wide expanse of business assistance Go! can provide.
FernNet is open to anyone who owns a business or is thinking about starting in one in Downtown Ferndale. The session also includes conversation among Downtown neighbors, FREE coffee and donuts.
The monthly sessions are the work of the BizDev Committee of the Ferndale DDA, and meets the last Wednesday of every month. On tap for April 30, Heather Coleman-Voss of Michigan Works and "The Michigan Works Resource." May 28 will be all about "Parking in Downtown Ferndale" and June 25 will address "Multi Media for Your Business."

Help Beautify City & Volunteer to Clean the F Up!
Mark your calendars for May 17, 2014 and be ready to do some cleaning at the Third Annual Clean the Ferndale Up, a community clean-up event organized by the Ferndale Community Foundation.
The event invites volunteers to come together to clean, repair and improve public spaces that have been neglected, vandalized or misused within Ferndale. All groups, businesses and individuals are encouraged to pitch in to help the community. The timing of this year's clean up was intended to coincide with a huge influx of out of town guests who are attendees of the National Main Street Conference in Detroit May 17-21. (See GIG at right)
Besides volunteers, Clean the F Up could also use some help in the sponsorship department. If you'd like to see a cleaner town, please call those in charge at 248-871-7783 or send an email cleantheferndaleup@gmail.com
