Hands On Managed Projects
|
Flex Projects are done-in-a-day projects led by a Hands On Volunteer Leader. Most Flex Projects take place on evenings or weekends and last 1-3 hours. Flex Projects don't require an ongoing commitment or any advance training, and many are family friendly!
Portable Projects allow you to volunteer any time or place you want.They're easy to do on your own or with a group. Consider getting your family, friends, faith community, or co-workers together to help with a Portable Project.

Our Partner Agencies offer great ways to get involved each month. We've highlighted a few below.
Help Claxton Elementary teachers prepare for the upcoming school year! Teachers need help getting their classrooms suitable for students to do some great learning. Volunteer tasks include moving around classroom furniture/materials, making bulletin boards, organizing/sorting, and copying/prepping classroom materials. Wednesday & Thursday, Aug 13-14
Support RiverLink's RiverMusic, a series of FREE live concerts by the French Broad River in the River Arts District of Asheville. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks at each event.

Hands On's newest partner, Organicfest needs volunteers for it's annual namesake festival! The Organicfest is a festive celebration of everything organic, green, sustainable, healthy and FUN. Festivities include live music, organic eats, Organicfest Marketplace, healthy wellness vendors and natural arts & crafts. This is a family-friendly event with eco-friendly activities for kids. Habitat for Humanity has opportunities perfect for individuals and groups with the support of Habitat staff. The value of these donations will be a huge asset to the ReStore and to Habitat's mission of providing affordable housing to our community.
- The Hampton Inn is remodeling and has very generously offered most all furnishings and fixtures to Habitat, for sale in the ReStore. Volunteers will help in deconstructing, as well as loading up the furnishings. Monday & Tuesday, Aug 4-5
- The ReStore will be undertaking an extensive deconstruction project. All items extracted from the home will be brought back to the ReStore to be unloaded, processed in the Donation and Receiving area, priced, and placed on the showroom floor. Tasks might include taking out kitchen cabinetry and countertops, bathrooms, and flooring. Thursday-Saturday, Aug 7-9
