"Thanks for giving me so much inspiration every Friday morning. You always bring a smile to my face and soul!"

~ Amy, MD

"One of my favorite quotations is from MLK Jr
and relates to your snippet  -
Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. We profess faith, we talk faith, we pay it forward in faith, and yet we say we live faith but in reality we live in fear - fear of failure, fear of wrong choices, fear of losing someone, something, fear of change. There is a fine balance between over analyzing and under analyzing. Our core makeup comes into play and we sometimes really have to pray and just squash that inner voice when it gets too loud and take the leap.
One of my most difficult and painful choices took a great leap of faith and a couple of feet up my backside - still causes great pain because I brought pain upon someone I was once very much in love with and subsequently onto my kids - I had no idea what the future was going to hold for me but it was the right choice for me, for my kids. If I had thought about it more I would never have 'delivered that package.' Faith does not guarantee a happy ending but it does hold true to the promise to love and care for us no matter what!"
~ Emily, MD

prayer flares

UPDATE
on the friend of snippeteer Amy

who had the skiing accident in Utah in February ... "She is doing very well," says Amy. "All the prayers have worked. She is back in Maryland in a rehab facility. It was touch and go at the very beginning and for a few weeks, so this is nothing short of a miracle that she has come this far!"

FOR all the runners involved in the Run For God 5K race including snippeteer Paula, that they may they train well now and race well

FOR Marybeth fighting intestinal cancer

FOR snippeteer Barbie and her sisters in the loss of DAD

FOR Chris diagnosed with breast cancer

FOR Megan of MD in her final month of touring 11 third world countries in 11 months with World Race, and for ALL the young people who take this incredible soulful journey.

11 countries 11 months

The World Race is a stretching journey into 11 countries in 11 months to serve "the least of these" while amongst real and raw community. This unique mission trip is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it's not about you; it's about the Kingdom.

a giggle

English teacher writes on board: "Woman without her man is nothing," and asks the students to punctuate it correctly.

The guys write:
Woman, without her man, is nothing.

The girls write:
Woman. Without her, man is nothing.

reflection section
attracting what we want

Between my office and personal stuff, I receive a LOT of emails using four different addresses. Yet I cannot complain. Know why? Because I created that. I send out multitudes of emails since I prefer to work via email rather than phone (faster, clearer, can edit my words, and able to 'e-talk' to people simultaneously). Ergo, many replies come back in that I have to process; I don't mind, because I really like email.

Everything we have, and everything we do, on some level of our subconsciousness, we have created. At some point we have attracted it into our lives ... the good, the bad and the ugly. My mentor Roxanne has taught me about the "Law of Attraction." Perhaps you're familiar with The Secret (and I don't mean Victoria's!) either in book or on video. It's the same concept: "Ask. Believe. Receive. You are a magnet attracting to you all things, via the signal you are emitting through your thoughts and feelings."

If we have a big bank roll, we attracted that. If we have a stinky job, we created it. If we lead a joyful life and own an upbeat disposition, that is what we produced for ourselves, too. If we're crabby, angry and miserable, guess what? No one is doing that. Nothing is doing that TO us. We concocted that attitude (called stinkin' thinkin' is what it's called!) Humans can even create illnesses in their bodies and minds. We can attract good love - or bad. We can make whatever we want to happen, happen ... yes, we are that powerful - or rather - our thoughts are.

We create all of our situations consciously or unconsciously - even the drama. (We've talked about that before, haven't we, snippeteers!?)

Hence, if we don't like a certain part of our lives or selves, it is up to us to alter it. As a teensy dumb example, I could send out less emails, and therefore, not attract so many in return. I could start phoning people in my work to get it done, but then what would I create? The disruptive jingling of an office phone line, more people to call back, and wasting good writing time by being distracted by the phone.

You've heard the familiar adage: "I've created a monster!" ... yes, in some cases, we have. What monster creation would you like to chase away? What would you like to attract into your life?
