How time flies! Our 2016 Benefit Art Auction is right around the corner - on February 27 - just a few weeks away! Check out our auction website for art previews and tickets. We've just added some fantastic art experiences as well!

Please consider joining us for our Benefactor Party, which will be taking place February 17 at Pivot Art + Culture in Seattle.

The deadline for our Twining Humber Award is coming up soon - February 8! It's a special award for a self-identified woman visual artist, age 60 or over, who has dedicated 25 years or more of her life to making art. Check it out here

Lisa Myers Bulmash: mixed media artist gives you the scoop on how Artist Trust can help. You'll learn how Artist Trust serves Washington State Artists of all disciplines and how you can use these programs and resources to advance your arts business.

Artist Trust invites you to a pop-up studio to create art and imagine the future with a local artist and Tacoma's arts community.

Facilitated by Frances McCue from Creative Ground, and in creative collaboration with a local artist, this workshop is the third in a series of Pop-up Studios where we'll engage through creative activities with artists and arts supporters to imagine a vibrant future in Washington State alive with happy, productive, supported artists.

Artist Trust Benefactor Party

Wednesday, February 17
6-9pm

Join Artist Trust's Board of Directors and major supporters for an insider's view of the beautiful exhibition, The Figure in Process with Pivot Director Ben Heywood. The Figure in Process presents seldom-seen paintings by modern masters such as Francis Bacon, Lucien Freud, David Hockney and Willem de Kooning, as well as sculptures by Barry X Ball, Alberto Giacometti and Anish Kapoor.

The evening will include a performance by Artist Trust grant recipient Bill Horist: composer, instrumentalist, and noted improviser and performer. Horist has performed in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Japan, performing and/or recording with such noted artists as Bill Frisell, KK Null, Matt Chamberlain, Trey Gunn (King Crimson), Tatsuya Yoshida (Ruins), Shazaad Ismaily, Eyvind Kang, Jeff Grienke, and Tucker Martine, among others.

Catering generously provided by Art Marble 21.

Boeing Partnership To Expand EDGE Program!
Artist Trust is excited to announce our partnership with The Boeing Company to develop our EDGE Professional Development curriculum to serve young artists in colleges and universities in Washington State.

This two-year grant from The Boeing Company will help us find ways to reach college-level arts students and give them the information and tools they need to begin their creative careers after graduation.

Applications for the Irving and Yvonne Twining Humber Award are closing soon - the deadline is February 8, so get your application in today!
 
The Irving and Yvonne Twining Humber Award is an unrestricted award given annually to a Washington State self-identified woman visual artist, age 60 or over, who has dedicated 25 or more years of her life to creating art. The award recognizes creative excellence, professional accomplishment and dedication to the arts. This award is made possible by a generous gift to the Artist Trust Endowment Fund from the late Yvonne Twining Humber.

Catching up with Artist Trust grant recipients and grads!
  • 2015 Grants for Artist Projects recipient Veronica Lee-Baik will be performing in a multidisciplinary dance work, "Her Name Is Isaac," at Cornish Playhouse in Seattle on February 11 & 12.
  •  2014 EDGE grad Jean Behnke's work is featured along with eighteen artists who live throughout the Skagit Valley in  Skagit Women Print at Schack Art Center in Everett.
  • Artist Trust At Large speaker and EDGE grad Lisa Myers Bulmash will display her pieces Exposure and the triptych Bought and Paid For as part of the  Onyx Fine Arts exhibit at the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building in Portland, OR.

  • February 6-28: Northwind Arts Center, Port Townsend / táʔkʷt, (To Shine a Light on Something)táʔkʷt, or "To Shine a Light on Something" in the language of the S'Klallam, honors the life and work of Blyn historian Mary Ann Lambert (1879 - 1966). A complex figure in Northwest history, this exhibition presents new scholarship and personal reflections on Mary Ann Lambert's legacy. táʔkʷt also debuts the literary work, Dungeness, written by Karen Polinsky and designed by Cara Thompson.
     
  • February 6: Shoreline Community College / YouTube MeTube WeTubeAn evening of humor, art...and maybe even some cats. Showcasing community submitted videos curated by storyteller, comedian, and artist extraordinaire Emmett Montgomery, who will also share a few picks of his own.
