Winter is on the way! The nights are getting longer, the air is getting colder, but we've got plenty of great opportunities and events to keep you busy over the next few weeks.

The deadline to apply for the Arts Innovator Awards is soon: November 23, so get to it! And our 2016 Fellowships open on November 18 in the categories of Craft, Literary, Media, and Music Arts.

Today is the last day to apply for our Development Assistant position, and we're also seeking a Spokane Program Coordinator to help us with outreach efforts in the Spokane region.

Come get happy with Artist Trust at Capitol Hill Art Walk on December 10! We will be at Artist Trust headquarters at 12th and Denny from 4:30-6pm, so come on by, meet the staff, and learn more about our grants and services before heading off and taking in some art.

Arts Innovator Award Applications: Deadline 11/23!

Applications for the 2015 Arts Innovator Award (AIA) are now open, and the deadline to apply is coming up soon! The AIA provides two $25,000 awards to Washington State generative artists who are originating new work, experimenting with new ideas, taking risks, and pushing the boundaries in their field.
 
Past recipients include visual artist Rodrigo Valenzuela and filmmaker Clyde Petersen (2014), sculptor John Grade (2013), and installation artist Mandy Greer (2012). For a complete list of Arts Innovator Award recipients click here .

Applications for Artist Trust Fellowships open November 18! 
 
Fellowships provide $7,500 to practicing professional artists of exceptional talent and ability. The Fellowship is a merit-based award. Recipients present a Meet the Artist event to a community in Washington State that has little or no access to art or the artist's work. The 2016 disciplines are: Craft, Literary, Media and Music Arts. 
 
In addition to 14 Fellowship recipients, two artists each in the craft and media categories will receive a one-month residency at The Millay Colony of the Arts in upstate New York and a $1,000 stipend.

Catching up with Artist Trust grant recipients and grads!
  •  2014 GAP recipient Joanne Clarkson is the first prize winner in the poetry division of Northern Colorado Writers 2015 contests.  Clarkson's winning poem is titled, "Klotho the Fibre Goddess Describes Fate."  
  • 2014 Fellowship recipient and musician Daniel Barry will feature new compositions written during his Fellowship at Seattle's First Baptist Church as part of the Jazz Vespers series on December 6. Free!

Artist Trust is pleased to announce that we are seeking a contract Spokane Program Coordinator. This is a new position, and a key role that will coordinate Artist Trust outreach, artist services, and program delivery in the Spokane region. We're also seeking a Development Assistant for our Seattle office.

We're also still looking for a variety of interns to work in our office and at our 2016 Annual Benefit Art Auction. Internships at Artist Trust are more than making coffee or copies; we view our interns as the next generation of leaders in arts management and do our best to offer substantive opportunities for professional development and growth.
